Terms of Use — Deva

Please read these Terms before using Deva. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Who we are

Deva is developed and operated by Anatolii Remenets (“we”, “us”).

2. What Deva is — and what it is not

Deva is an independent, unofficial client for the DeviantArt service. It lets you sign in with your own DeviantArt account and browse, search, favourite and comment on content that DeviantArt provides through its public API.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by DeviantArt or Wix. All trademarks belong to their respective owners. We do not host, own or moderate the artwork, profiles or comments you see in the app — all of it comes from DeviantArt and belongs to the people who created it.

Your use of the underlying service is also governed by DeviantArt’s own terms and policies. If DeviantArt suspends your account or removes content, we cannot restore it.

3. Your account

You sign in through DeviantArt’s own website in a system browser window. The app never sees, receives or stores your password. It receives only an access token, which is kept in the secure storage of your device.

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your credentials safe.

4. Age requirement

You must be at least 17 years old to use Deva. The app displays user-generated content from a large public community, which may include mature themes.

5. Content and acceptable use — zero tolerance

Deva has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour.

You agree not to use the app to post, submit or transmit content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, sexually exploitative of minors, or that infringes anyone’s rights.

We provide the following, and you agree to use them rather than escalate:

• Report. Any deviation can be reported from the “…” menu on its screen. Reports go to DeviantArt, which owns the content and the moderation process.
• Block. Any artist can be blocked from the same menu. Blocked artists’ work disappears from every feed in the app on your device.

We will act on reports of objectionable content and abusive users, and may remove access to the app for anyone who abuses it. Because the content itself lives on DeviantArt, removal of content and account-level enforcement are performed by DeviantArt.

5a. Creating images

The Create tab turns your text, and images you attach, into new images using a third-party AI model (Google’s Gemini image models, provided through kie.ai).

What you may not create. You agree not to use Create to make, or to try to make:

• sexual content of any kind involving minors, or content that sexualises minors;
• sexual or intimate images of a real, identifiable person, or any image of a real person made to deceive, humiliate or harass them (“deepfakes”);
• content that promotes violence, terrorism, self-harm or hatred against people for who they are;
• content that is unlawful where you live, or that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or likeness;
• images meant to be passed off as real photographs of real events in order to mislead.

Only attach images you have the right to use. Do not attach photos of other people without their consent.

Filters. Requests pass through the model provider’s own content filter, and some will be refused. A refused request is not charged against your allowance.

Your images. As between you and us, you own what you create, to the extent the law allows AI-generated works to be owned, and you may use it for any lawful purpose. We claim no rights in your images and do not publish them anywhere. Images are generated by a machine: they may be inaccurate, resemble existing works, or contain errors. You are responsible for how you use them, including checking that they do not infringe anyone’s rights before using them commercially.

Breaking these rules may lead us to disable Create for your device.

6. What you may not do

• Reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
• Use the app to scrape, bulk-download or redistribute other people’s artwork.
• Use automated means to interact with the service through the app.
• Use the app in a way that breaches DeviantArt’s terms or applicable law.

7. Intellectual property

The app itself — its code, design and original assets — belongs to us. Artwork, comments and profiles shown in the app belong to their authors. Downloading or reusing someone’s artwork without their permission is not allowed.

The illustrations shown on the app’s introductory screens are original assets created for the app and are not the work of DeviantArt members.

8. Paid features

Deva Pro is a paid subscription, billed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase, and subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.

Deva Pro includes 20 images per 30-day period in the Create tab, on any plan — weekly, monthly or yearly. The period is counted from your first purchase. Each variant counts as one image: asking for four variants uses four. Unused images do not carry over to the next period. If an image fails to generate, it is not counted. There are no free images without a subscription.

Any paid tier of Deva is unrelated to any paid membership offered by DeviantArt itself and grants no benefits on that service.

9. No warranty

The app is provided “as is”. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we depend on a third-party API that may change or become unavailable without notice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, or loss arising from content published by other people.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
